Founder of Nani Moon Meadery
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Receiving her undergraduate degree in Marine Science, Biology and Chemistry from University of Miami, Florida, she recognized the importance of resource conservation and it’s effects on both land, freshwater and marine environments. Stephanie worked with the National Tropical Botanical Garden for 12 years as a docent, educator and contractual marine researcher.
Stephanie started making mead in her Kapahi garage in 2000. During eight years of research and development, she worked with industry leaders in the local food and beverage community learning about wine appreciation. Combining her love of the flavor profiles of some of the world’s most unique wines, with her passion for supporting Hawaii’s diverse agricultural community, Stephanie created the Nani Moon Mead Collection. She is assisted by a dedicated group of Queen Bees, Drones, and most importantly, her Chief Executive Bear, Hunter.
Originally from Vermont, Diana has lived in many places working with environmental community development. She landed on Kauai last year to work in conservation with landowners. Her passion for localized agriculture mixed with with a past experience working in tea tastings gave her an interest in exploring the world of Mead, and is loving helping customers discover new flavor profiles that reflect the community and culture of Kauai.

“I grew up in Northern California and Southwest Colorado. After high school I traveled through Europe, Australia and South America before enrolling at Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA, where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration. I have lived on Kaua‘i’s North Shore for nine years now. I am so grateful to call this amazing island my home and find myself constantly in awe of its natural beauty. It is my intention, with my art, to get in touch with my emotions, to value my heart’s silent wisdom and to be more present in every moment. I hope my paintings may inspire others to do the same.”
